It’s official. Taco Bell French fries are about to arrive nationwide, combining every fry fanatic’s dream with their favorite taco and burrito pit stop.
Blink-182’s Mark Hoppus sparked an interesting conundrum on Twitter, when he called the decision between Taco Bell and Del Taco a “Sophie’s Choice of fast food.” What was the problem for Hoppus, and apparently many other torn taco lovers? The band’s frontman likes the food better at Taco Bell, but wants the side of fries that Del Taco offers.
Shortly after the Hoppus tweet, Taco Bell launched a test run. They stared selling burritos stuff with French fries in their West Virginia locations. The results confirmed what Hoppus felt: people love Taco Bell, but they also love their fries.
In an attempt to give the people what they want, Taco Bell has officially announced that they’ll be adding French fries to the menu. They’re called “Nacho Fries,” because they come with a side of orange cheese sauce.
You can snag a side of spuds for just $1, or upgrade your fries to a supreme for $2.49 or a Bell Grande – the holy grail of Nacho fries – for $3.49. The upgrade versions of Taco Bell French fries come with a signature flair: beef, sour cream, pico de gallo, and extra cheese.
The Taco Bell French fries will hit their stores on Thursday, January 25. But don’t get too excited. As all good things must eventually come to an end, the fast-food chain is reportedly offering Nacho Fries for a limited time only. At least you may have a Bell-style margarita to look forward to.
