Facebook Dating is in its testing stages, soon to encroach on Tinder’s territory for singles looking to connect.
But unlike other online dating services, this one is going to be a bit different.
First of all – it’s not an app. It’s just another Facebook feature.
Second, Facebook is pushing a different kind of dating service. Their intention is to help people find potential partners who are looking for something serious… Or at least, something more than a casual affair.
We all know that the social network has a ton of data on each of us… But in the case of finding a partner, that could be beneficial. They’ll match users according to the slew of information they know about our likes, dislike, and general preferences. Who knows? That could yield the perfect mate! Of course, since this is the network of connections, mutual friends will also be taken into consideration.
Don’t want people to know that you’re using the feature? Easy. Only other people who have also signed up for Facebook Dating can see that you’re on it.
We asked our members if they would give it a try.
Here’s the results.
Just over forty percent of respondents said that they wouldn’t try it, compared to the 16.7% who are willing to give it a shot. More than 10 percent are potential converts to the feature, but we’ll have to wait until it goes live to know who’s willing to take a leap of faith and put their romantic future into the hands of Zuckerberg’s algorithms.
How do you compare?
