Do not ready this post if you are on a low carb diet. Panera is about to start doubling up on their famous bread bowls, and we’ve just added about one hundred cheat days back into our weight loss goals.
The double bread bowl will essentially appeal to the indecisive among us.
Have you ever gone to Panera and thought, “Hmm… Not sure if I’m in a chicken noodle or a broccoli cheddar mood?” Well, now you don’t have to choose!
But bear in mind that this is just a test. They’re going to do a trial run at the chain’s Philly locations, and depending on how that pans out, they may release it in other cities.
So far, the Panera double bowls have been met by rave reviews. Fans everywhere quickly took to social media to express their hopes that the bread bowls will soon launch in a location near them.
Panera’s marketing strategy is to display the double bread bowl as the perfect date food for two…
But let’s be real.
We’d happily eat the entire thing to ourselves!
The double bread bowls aren’t just perfect for people who want to taste-test two different soups at the same time. They’re also ideal for those of you who want one scoop soup, one scoop mac & cheese.
Which brings us to the next point of magical Panera news.
Expect Extra Cheesy Goodness From Panera, Too.
It’s not just the double bread bowls that have those of us who have given up on counting calories forever singing songs of joy.
Panera has also announced the addition of four new cheese-centric food items.
First, expect a four-cheese grilled cheese sandwich, layered with Monteau, sharp cheddar, Fontina, and smoked Gouda. Next is the modern Caprese sandwich, which pairs mozzarella and parmesan on thick black pepper focaccia.
And for the mac-and-cheese lovers among you, there’s a Baja Mac & Cheese solution that combines white cheddar mac with slices of avocado, and a self-explanatory Bacon Mac & Cheese.
