The first amendment is all about free speech. But is that really possible? Cynics might think that the government would never really allow free speech. Realists could believe that free speech is a fundamental right, which means we have to listen to everyone’s opinion even if we disagree. And idealists could argue that everyone has the right to free speech, unless it’s violent in nature.
