Auntie Anne just turned thirty-years old, and she’s feeling ready to celebrate in style and generosity. The famous pretzel company is introduce a new flavor of nuggets: Birthday Cake.
How did Auntie Anne arrive at the newest addition?
Easy.
Popular opinion.
As we well know, brands make their best decisions when they factor in what the people have to say. That’s called market research, and it’s pretty much what makes the consumer world go round.
It comes in tons of different forms, and you can even get paid to participate in it through online surveys… But the bottom line is that there are many different ways that you can influence brands like Auntie Anne’s to make the products and services you most want to buy.
And that’s exactly what happened with Birthday Cake pretzel nuggets.
Back in June, the company decided to ask their customers what they would most want to taste through the 2018 Pretzel Nation Creation Poll…
Potential flavors included:
- Caramel Apple Crème Brûlée
- Cookies & Cream
- Chocolate Covered Cherry
- Cotton Candy
- Red Velvet Cheesecake
- Tiramisu
- Lemonade Cake
- Pineapple Upside Down Cake
- Chocolate Coconut
And of course… the ultimate winner, Birthday Cake.
It’s understandable. Who doesn’t want to celebrate their birthday (or any day) with delicious soft nuggets smothered in vanilla, chocolate syrup, and sprinkles? If you do choose to eat these as an occasional birthday treat, remember that you can complement them with free goodies from these chain restaurants too.
It was a close call between Caramel Apple Crème Brûlée and Birthday Cake pretzel nuggets, but ultimately the latter one by a mere 662 votes.
The Birthday Cake Pretzel nuggets feature a delicious swirl of toppings, where confetti sprinkles meet vanilla and chocolate syrup flavoring. They’re joining the cast of regulars over there, and will sit side by side with regular, pepperoni, and cinnamon sugar.
The news is spreading good cheer around the country right now… The voters have spoken, and at least 79,641 of them have gotten what they want… a mouthful of birthday-cake deliciousness.
But we all know that Auntie Anne isn’t the only soft-pretzel joint in town. What we want to know here at Survey Junkie is which you prefer: Auntie Anne’s or Wetzel’s Pretzels.
