White Castle officially announced the launch of their impossible slider, and the internet went crazy.
In case you missed it, the Impossible Slider is the fast food chain’s very own version of the Impossible Burger – a vegetarian option that tastes just like beef.
It’s not the first time that a popular restaurant has tried to make an option for the herbivores in the world. But it is one of the only burgers that actually mimics the taste of meet?
How do they accomplish such a feat?
Unlike other plant-based burgers that chop up carrots, celery, and other veggies to try and imitate the taste, the Impossible Slider relies on a different set of ingredients. They combine coconut oil, wheat protein, and heme – a molecule grown in a lab by scientists – to create a food that tastes amazingly like your standard beef burger.
We asked Survey Junkie members whether they’d eat this supremely popular food product.
Here’s what we found out from our White Castle poll.
Nearly half of respondents said yes, they would eat it. About an even amount are split between maybe trying it and not trying it.
How do you compare to other Survey Junkie members?
